Solutions to Problems in China
Air Quality
On September 12th, 2013 the Environmental Protection Ministry of Shanghai (MEP) unveiled its new comprehensive plan to tackle air pollution in China; The Airborne Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan. This plan will increase the quality of air in Shanghai. The plan calls for cuts of, concentration levels of PM2.5 for the Shanghai region. The levels of PM will be reduced by 25 percent by 2017 from the 2012 level. The investment required to implement this plan is estimated to be 1.75 trillion renminbi ($284.2 billion Aus Dollar). OR they could increase the number of trees in Shanghai to make the air cleaner and greener for the next generation.
Population
There is no normal means of lowering the population. But releasing a lethal, airborne virus in the middle of Shanghai would go a long way in lowering the population of Shanghai, but it could potentially cause loss of life in other cities of China and beyond. OR Reduce the amount of bad emissions from cars and/or other so that even though it does have a high population it can be like one that doesn’t.
Traffic Congestion
Give education to young people to take public transport instead of just adding to the number of people stuck in shanghai in any given time. Shanghai has a real problem with traffic congestion and education is key. OR They could raise the prices of all transport needs, whether it be petrol, car prices or others. To make it so that only the middle/high class can afford to drive.
